Dublin AM Rotary April 12, 2019 Meeting
 
Cap Clegg and the Interact Groups for all 3 Dublin High Schools and Davis Middle School
Today’s Announcements:  
Pro Am day ticket registration – please see Mike Isler’s message and forward the Pro AM event to your friends and colleagues! Don’t forget to register yourself and a guest on the Club runner link -Thanks Claudia!
 
The Pro Am committee was pushed back a week since we do not have a meeting on Friday. Please meet Friday 4/26 at 7 am – TCC as usual before the meeting.
 
Sad news about Fay’s family and the loss of her brother- please keep them in our prayers this week.
 
Dalma announced that the exchange student Fundraiser Dinner Saturday evening was very successful in raising funds for the Polio Fight and thanks everyone for their generosity and St. Patrick’s for hosting.
 
Rev. Steve Smith encourages Fish Fry Friday at St. Pat’s as the proceeds are going to Habitat for Humanity this week. 
 
Lou shared the progress with the City for a car show September 1st. Much more to follow over the coming months.
 
Paige shared the growth of the Dublin Schools, positive news and names for these additions to the School District.
 
 
Cap introduced the Interact Clubs and their advisors. These very impressive, young speakers shared their presentations. Here are a few details:
 
 
Coffman High School:
  • Halloween Canned Food Collection for Dublin Food Bank
  • Discover the Dream Columbus Zoo and fundraiser for St. Jude’s Research Hospital raising $4,000 for pediatric cancer research
  • Project Linus- Blankets made and donated for kids with illnesses
  • Recycling and a special thank you to the Coffman school staff
 
 
Jerome High School:
  • Halloween Candy sent to deployed troops
  • Exchange Program Support
  • Dog Biscuit sale was December’s fundraiser for the animal shelter
  • Local Fire and Police Cookie drop off
  • Project Linus for kids in need
  • OSU and College Days
  • JJ spoke to the school about his experiences with his illness, kicked off a blood drive
  • Potted plants delivered to local Nursing Homes
 
Scioto High School:
 
  • School supplies to Daniel Wright Elementary
  • Thanksgiving Food Drive- Boxes of food for hundreds of families
  • Veterans Story event for families
  • Toys for Tots with the marines
  • Breast Cancer patient’s letters of encouragement locally and in Uganda in association with Otterbein
  • Diversity, Culture and Performance raised $1,000 for Mary Meals
  • Max’s Shoes
 
Davis Middle School:
 
  • Canned Food Drive for Dublin Food Pantry
  • Sole Hope – preventing parasites is the goal. The process includes re-using shoe soles and jeans fabric  and paying local people in Uganda to assemble and distribute the shoes so fewer barefoot people to be infected.  
  • School markers are recycled
  • Advertising videos are made for fundraising
  • Hash Tag Lunch Bags program
  • Thank you letters to school staff
 
A very impressive group of young people in all our Dublin Schools.
