Welcome
Rotary Club of Dublin A.M. - Veterans Affairs Committee
- Objective: To provide expanded opportunities for both veteran and non-veteran members of the club to support local, state, and national veterans’ programs and activities. The Veteran's Affairs Committee is looking to consolidate club veterans’ programs and activities and investigate areas we can become increasingly involved in support of the military and veteran's groups across the board where demonstrated needs have been identified (PTSD programs, job search assistance and/or skill training, local veteran’s family support during extended deployments, Blue Star Moms/Buckeye Military Moms, etc.).
- Activities: This committee will spearhead club programs to support national, state, and local veterans’ programs through activities such as the following:
- Support of the National and State Veterans Honor Flight Program
- Community Veterans Day and Memorial Day Programs
- An annual presentation to club on Veterans Day to expand member knowledge of military service roles, responsibilities, lifestyle, and programs (Military 101)
- Coordinate club support for local and state Veterans organizations on special occasions and recognized veteran’s observance days.
- Support Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame programs and activities and Ohio Dept of Veterans Services Outreach programs.
- To support National Veterans Affairs Programs like Wounded Warriors, Rehabilitation Support, or Re-Education & Training
- Outreach: The committee would support additional projects that promote special veterans and/or veteran family opportunities,
- Deployed Family Support (in conjunction with Dublin Counseling Center)
- Veterans Family support with trips to Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH
- Boys State/Girls State sponsorship packages for military families
- Care Package" programs and projects in support of deployed troops during holidays
- Schedule veteran members of the club to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at club meetings.
