It’s February and the snow is melting and -- for those of you doing your seasonal weather pattern prognosticating off of the whims of ground squirrels -- Buckeye Chuck indicates there will be an early spring!
I want to take a moment to thank all of you and, in particular, our Polar Bear Golf Open Committee, for a successful Polar Bear Golf Open. We had fantastic attendance, lots of snow, and many raffle prize winners, and we ultimately raised an estimated $12,000 for the Dublin AM Rotary Foundation and the Rett Syndrome Research Trust. Thanks again for your support.
I have one more ask for you – on Saturday, March 14, our club will be marching in the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate the vitality of our club, as well as highlight all of the great things Dublin AM Rotary does for our community. Accordingly, we need lots of marchers to participate, including holding signs and handing out candy to those along the parade route. But, as we have done for many years, we also need volunteers to serve as parade marshals to help the City of Dublin keep parade route clear and participants safe. The upshot is we need lots of “bodies” for this event.
Thanks to event sponsors Stratos Wealth Partners, VCA Animal Hospitals, Dinsmore, Columbus Financial Concepts, First Citizens Bank, and Heartland Bank for supporting Rotary and the Dublin community!
A roar of gratitude for event volunteers: Tricia Arndt, Barb Anderson, Jim Bandeen, Mary Bandeen, Eileen Bolton, Cindy Groeniger, Pete Cushnie, Ingrid Fields, Susanna Qiang Huang, Peter Georgiton, Scott Lewis, Halle Markwas, Brian Mayer, Susan Robenalt, Steve Schmitt, Dan Schwegman, Luke Thomas, Claudia Trusty, Deb McGibbon Varga, Susan West, Phil Yoder.
Event funds support the Dublin AM Rotary Charitable Foundation and family and children's charities, including the Rett Syndrome Research Trust.
