Happy New Year! Well, the holidays are past and we’re ready to push forward with a fabulous 2026 for Dublin AM Rotary.
One of our signature events, the Polar Bear Golf Open is returning on February 7 at Safari Golf Club. Please be sure to spread the word to friends, family, and colleagues about this fun event. Not only will this event support the Dublin AM Rotary Foundation, but also the Rett Syndrome Research Trust to help find a cure for Rett Syndrome.
We have more social events coming, including Happy Hour at Fado Bridge Park on January 22! And we’re preparing for a fantastic event and fundraiser at The Memorial Tournament. There will also be volunteer opportunities for not only the Polar Bear Golf Open, but also to serve as a Parade Marshal for the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We are also hoping to get a spot in the parade itself for Dublin AM to march – stay tuned for more details.
I’m excited to get going with the year – it is going to be a lot of fun with tremendous opportunities for fellowship, volunteering, and fundraising!
The Rotary 125 Club is a giving program for members to donate $125 to the Rotary International Foundation, specifically $100 to the Annual Fund and $25 to the PolioPlus Fund. It's an initiative to encourage giving to fund local grants, global projects, and the worldwide eradication of polio.
Thank you to the Dublin AM Rotarians who have chosen to support the 125 Club for the 2025-2026 Rotary Year and are listed below. You can still join the 125 Club by contacting Amy Barnhart to make a pledge.
An excerpt from the Dublin Education Foundation (DEF) reads:
"Impact in our schools can look different from one school to the next, but when literacy is magnified at any age level and a child embraces the love of reading, the ripple effect is felt by all! Thank you, Dublin AM Rotary, for believing in the DEF mission once again.
DEF grants in action in 2025 looked like a book vending machine at Chapman Elementary, Hopewell Elementary students reading to stuffed animal friends, and writing to animals at the Capital Area Humane Society. Your donor dollars are already at work in our Fall Grant Cycle, uplifting readers and filling the gaps for many.
Rotary International’s theme for January is Vocational Service Month. Rotary encourages using one’s professional skills to serve others, promote high ethical standards, encourage mentorship, and celebrate the different skills we can share in community.
One of the ways Rotary advances this theme is by reminding us of the Four-Way Test, which is among the most valued tenets of Rotary membership.
The meeting schedule is available on the top left of our website.
