Dublin AM Rotary Newsletter July 2025

President Peter's Message

Thanks to Gene and the entire club for an outstanding 2024-2025 year!

I want to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Gene Oliver for his tremendous service as President this past year.  Gene has done an outstanding job and shared some of the highlights from the past year at the last club meeting, as detailed below.

While it took the entire club to achieve the above outcomes, I want to especially recognize Susanna Huang and Michael Darling who respectively received the Rookie of the Year and Rotarian of the Year awards. Thank you to Susanna and Michael for your many hours of service above self over the past year.

Looking ahead to 2025-2026 goals:

It is an absolute honor and privilege to be called upon by the Dublin A.M. Rotary Club to serve as President for the 2025-26 Rotary Year.  I look forward to continuing and building upon the great work that our club does for the community and the world.  But we cannot do what we do without members.  And we need more members.

Across Rotary club membership has steadily declining.  It’s a phenomenon that is being experienced worldwide.  This year, my goal is for each of us to commit ourselves to increasing our membership by inviting guests to our meetings, welcoming them, and showing them what we have to offer.  To that end, I continue to encourage each of you to invite guests to attend our meetings and events to find out what Dublin AM Rotary is all about.

I would like to increase our efforts to get our message out into the community and increase our exposure, whether through in person engagements, traditional media, or via social media.  There’s an adage that “you have to meet people where they are.”  And increasingly they are on social media.  Accordingly, I’d like to spread our social media presence across multiple platforms - if you have not already, please like and share recent posts on our Facebook page or create your own post on LinkedIn or Instagram.  Share with your social network something you learned in a club meeting, communicate your reasons for being a Rotarian, or extend an invitation to an event.

We will also increase our efforts to retain new members, by offering more opportunities for committee involvement, community service, fellowship, and engagement.  And we want to increase our efforts to help the community by increasing our fundraising.  I look forward to working hard with each of you to make that happen. If you have interests in serving our club in new ways, including serving on our committees, please feel free to reach out.

Again, I thank each of you for the opportunity to lead this club, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic 2025-2026 Rotary Year!

With appreciation
Peter Georgiton

Donate School Supplies and Spread Sunshine

Dublin AM Rotary is committed to helping local children in need. One of the ways we do that is to collect school supplies.

Join One Dublin's "Spread Sunshine" initiative! It's all about those small acts of kindness and support that build a stronger, brighter Dublin for everyone. Through the initiative, your donation directly provides a new backpack filled with essential school supplies for Dublin students in need. Help us ensure every child has the tools to succeed and start the school year feeling confident. Each backpack will be packed with love, ready to spread sunshine!

Click  here to buy supplies from One Dublin's Amazon wish list. Please bring school supplies to the club meeting on July 11.

Or you can make a financial donation here.

Thank you for your support of the next generation in our community!
